2024 Maine Summer Adventure Race - Harpswell
Once again based at Brunswick's P-3 Park, the 2024 MSAR traveled south by foot and then kayak to Harpswell's famed Cliff Trail, as well as the Doughty Point Preserve, the Long Reach Preserve, and the Woodward Point Preserve. A long bike ride through Topsham's sculpted MTB trails was followed by a longer bike on an ATV trail through Lisbon and Durham. Racers spent the night seeking out checkpoints on foot in Bradbury Mountain State Park and then finished with a "ride" - really a bike carry - through a swampy powerline cut to Cox Pinnacle and then Brunswick's MTB trails.
2023 Maine Summer Adventure Race - Popham beach
The 2023 edition began at P-3 Park in Brunswick, then explored the Androscoggin River and Merrymeeting Bay before taking racers on a tour of Bath and Popham Beach State Park, followed by an overnight trek through the Basin Preserve before returning to Brunswick via the Lily Pond and Kate Furbish MTB trails.
2022 Maine Summer Adventure Race - SEBAGO Lake
The 2022 race started at Pineland Farms and traveled east to Panther Pond and Crescent Lake, then explored the Tiger Hill Conservation Area before looping back west to Morgan Meadow WMA and the finish at Pineland.
2021 Maine Summer Adventure Race - range pond
The 2021 race started at Pineland Farms and featured Range Pond State Park as its focal point before venturing further north to Lost Valley Ski Area, Androscoggin Riverlands State Park, Lewiston/Auburn, and a return to Pineland.
2019 Maine summer adventure race - casco bay
The 2019 race began at Pineland Farms for the first time, taking racers to Bradbury Mountain State Park then south via the Cross-Falmouth Trail to a paddle on the Presumpscot River into and around Casco Bay. After landing at East End Beach, racers explored Portland then Blackstrap Forest and the Lowell Preserve before a final trek and bike around the Pineland Public Lands.
2018 maine summer adventure race - kennebec
The 2018 race, our first 24-hour race, began at Hidden Valley Nature Center, then took racers to the Garcelon WMAs and Fort Western and the Bond Brook trails in Augusta, down the Kennebec Rail Trail to Gardiner, a night paddle with jumping sturgeon on the Kennebec River, orienteering on historic Swan Island, a second paddle on the Kennebec into Merrymeeting Bay, finishing with a bike back to HVNC.
2017 MAINE SUMMER ADVENTURE RACE - BOOTHBAY
The 10-hour 2017 race began in Boothbay Harbor with a kayak up the Sheepscot River, including a stop at the Oven's Mouth Preserve, followed by a trek through the Boothbay Peninsula, including the Zak Preserve, Schmid Preserve, and Dodge Point Preserve, ending with a bike through trails at Oxbow Brewing's Newcastle location and the Hidden Valley Nature Center.
2016 MAINE SUMMER ADVENTURE RACE - damariscotta
The race's inaugural edition lasted 8 hours and began and ended at the Hidden Valley Nature Center, with a paddle on Damariscotta Lake and a visit to the Stetser Preserve.
