2021 24-Hour race course information

  • The 24-hour race will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 17 and will end at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 18. Check-in and map hand-out begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Events Center/Market at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine.
  • Estimated minimum distances (in no particular order) are: 12 miles of hiking, 50 miles of biking including optional technical mountain biking, and 10 miles of paddling. Extra, optional checkpoints will add significantly to the total distances traveled in each of those disciplines. Estimated maximum distances are 30 miles of trekking, 90 miles of biking (with at least 25 miles of mountain biking on trails), and 15 miles of paddling.
  • A mountain bike is required.
  • There may also be an optional quarter-mile swim.
  • This year the 24-hour race will feature an optional packrafting section. Teams wishing to complete the full course should register for the packraft division and bring their own packrafting gear to the race. For teams who do not own a packraft, there are packraft rental options that may be available for the race. We are working to partner with a rental company and will alert teams once this is available. Teams in the non-packraft division will still compete on the same course as the packraft division but will use an alternate means of travel around the packrafting section. Teams in both divisions will also paddle kayaks during the race.

2021 8-hour race course information

  • The 8-hour race will begin at 8 a.m.  and end at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 17. Check-in and map hand-out begins at 6 a.m. on Saturday at the Events Center/Market at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine.
  • Estimated minimum distances (in no particular order) are: 3 miles of hiking, 20 miles of biking including optional technical mountain biking, and 3 miles of paddling. Extra, optional checkpoints will add to the total distances traveled in each of those disciplines. Estimated maximum distances are 6 miles of trekking, 35 miles of biking, and 6 miles of paddling.
  • Mountain bikes are optional and highly recommended if you plan to attempt the entire course, as there is a section of technical mountain biking. But road bikes are fine for teams who wish to skip the mountain biking.
  • There may also be an optional quarter-mile swim.

2021 3-hour race course information

  • The 3-hour race will begin at 12:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17. Check-in and map hand-out begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Events Center/Market at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine.
