  • The 3-hour race is perfect for beginners and families. Past finishers have included toddlers and septuagenarian. The race course is mostly on-trail hiking and optional mountain biking, and is a perfect introduction to the sport for those new to adventure racing.

    Minimum distance: Take a step forward off the start line, turn around and cross the finish line. You're a finisher!

    Maximum distance: Hiking: 5 miles -- Biking: 10 miles. No paddling in the 3-hour race.

  • The 8-hour race includes hiking, biking on mixed terrain, and canoeing. It's a manageable challenge for anyone willing and able to spend a day roughing it in the woods (provided there's food and beer waiting for them at the finish).

    Minimum distance: Hiking: 0 miles -- Biking: 20 miles -- Paddling: 6 miles.

    Maximum distance:: Hiking: 10 miles -- Biking: 30 miles -- Paddling: 9 miles.

  • The 24-hour race is an extreme challenge, involving multiple hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing stages. Teams race through the day and night (and day again), covering 50 to 100+ miles in total distance.

    Minimum distance: Hiking: 7 miles -- Biking: 40 miles -- Paddling: 16 miles.

    Maximum distance: Hiking: 25 miles -- Biking: 80 miles -- Paddling: 20 miles.
